MLA Director & Vice-Chair of government & land use committee


Steve Rohacek is a retired commercial lending executive with experience in both the public and private sectors who joined the MLA Board of Directors in July 2023. Steve is on the Board of Directors of the Leonard Lake Stakeholders Association and Board of Directors of the Harold and Grace Baker Centre, a not for profit seniors housing provider and is Chair of their Redevelopment Committee.
 
Steve’s family cottaged in Halliburton when he was younger and after getting married, cottaged at his wife Kathy’s family cottage on Sparrow Lake in Muskoka. Steve and Kathy bought their cottage on Leonard Lake in 2013 which they enjoy with their two daughters, partners and two grandchildren.
 
Steve joined the MLA and Government and Land Use Committee to bring a smaller lake perspective to the association, to support the environment first approach to responsible planning and development and advocate for a more precautionary approach to the District’s Lake Health System that sets water quality planning policy for Muskoka lakes.
