What is it?
The Blue Lakes Program is a free, voluntary initiative run by The Land Between to help protect the health of lakes in Southern Ontario. The program works with lakefront property owners who are guided through conservancy actions on their properties. Participants can select the activities they partake in and can customize the program to suit their individual property needs.
How does it work?
After signing up, participants will have a one-on-one meeting with a Blue Lakes Program representative. They will walk through the 7 performance areas and help you select the areas you want to focus on and the specific actions that you can do to address them. The program provides resources available online as well as information sessions for less straightforward activities to help participants as they work through the actions they selected. The activities themselves are carried out independently.
How can I participate?
To sign up and receive an initial consultation meeting, you can visit the Blue Lakes Program website and click “Join The Program” in the top right corner of the page. After signing up you will receive an email that will introduce you to the program and prompt you to schedule your meeting.
Who is eligible for the program?
Participants must have at least 10ft of shoreline, a natural shoreline that is not restricted by walls or other structures and be located in The Land Between bioregion.
