With the Muskoka Lakes Association (MLA) and the Friends of Muskoka (FOM) announcing they are joining forces, the MLA is excited to welcome Friends of Muskoka supporters to our growing community of lake stewards, nature lovers and dedicated advocates for Muskoka’s future.

Our long partnership with FOM has shown what we can achieve when we work together—from defending the Township of Muskoka Lakes Official Plan, to protecting our lakes and opposing overdevelopment. Now, by officially joining forces, we are even stronger together.

What We’re Working On

The challenges facing Muskoka haven’t gone away—and the MLA is more engaged and determined than ever.  Our volunteer committees are actively engaged in:

• Watershed and shoreline protection
• Development and zoning reviews
• Official Plan updates
• Township budgets and accountability

We continue to face opposition from groups looking to weaken environmental protections. The MLA needs as many members as possible to be able to speak with a strong voice where it matters most – to preserve and enhance Muskoka for all generations.
