MLA director & Chair of government & land use committee

Liz Lundell is a historian, author and retired educator who has written numerous articles and eight books on aspects of Ontario heritage. Her passion for Ontario’s waterways was shaped by early summers on the Rideau, in Algonquin Park and northern Ontario - where she led many canoe trips. This interest led her to volunteer as an MLA water quality volunteer in 2016.

Now a full-time resident of Muskoka, Liz enjoys consulting on heritage matters and community initiatives. She chaired Doors Open Muskoka from 2007-2012 and was founding President of Architectural Conservancy Ontario Muskoka. She has served on the board of the Muskoka Lakes Museum since 2004. The Muskoka Conservancy recognized Liz with the Robert J. Boyer Award for commitment to cultural and built heritage of Muskoka in 2009.

Liz joined the board of the Muskoka Lakes Association in 2019. She became chair of the Government & Land Use Committee in 2022.
