Susan Eplett is a retired corporate/securities lawyer who joined the MLA Board of Directors in April 2019. She was Chair of the Government & Land Use Committee (2020 – 2022) until becoming President (2022-2024). She is also a founding director of Friends of Muskoka.
Susan was motivated to volunteer for the MLA to help encourage responsible development, without excessive tree clearing and blasting, and without converting waterfront resorts into high density residential subdivisions.
She started coming to her parents’ cottage on Lake Rosseau as a young child, learning to sail and water-ski in the summers, and skate on the lake in the winters. But it was her summer job delivering papers by boat as a young teen, watching the sun rise as she drove from dock to dock, that instilled in her a love of Muskoka’s spectacular natural beauty. She raised her four sons coming to Muskoka for the summer and plans to do the same with her new grandchildren - the fourth generation in her family with a deep appreciation and love for Muskoka.
