Wearing a Face Covering in All Indoor Public Spaces

Face Coverings Mandatory in Simcoe-Muskoka When Indoors Effective July 13th

The Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit has declared that the use of face coverings when indoors in public spaces will become mandatory as of July 13th. With this announcement the region effectively follows suit with the declaration made in Toronto earlier this week which became effective July 7th.

Public spaces, while not limited to, include locations such as food premises, grocery and retail stores, public transit, nail salons, places of worship, libraries etc. The face coverings or masks may be either medical or non-medical quality. Young children under the age of two or those under five who cannot be persuaded, are not required to wear a face covering, as well as individuals whose health or ability, or cultural or religious reasons would prevent them from doing so. No proof of exemption is required
